The I-PhiT (Impacting Others Through Awareness Initiative) presents a Medical Trip to the Dominican Republic in collaboration with the National Evangelical University (UNEV), Faculty of Health Sciences, School of Nursing.

This one-week international health outreach is designed to give nursing and health science students an opportunity to engage in hands-on clinical practice, cultural exchange, and community service. Participants will work alongside UNEV faculty and medical professionals in various hospitals, institutes, and community foundations across Santiago, Dominican Republic.

Purpose and Objectives

The primary goal of this trip is to enhance clinical competence and foster global health awareness through experiential learning. Participants will:

  Participate in clinical procedures in gynecology, pediatrics, maternal and child health, and ICU units.

  Share knowledge on the management of fluids, electrolytes, and venoclysis.

  Engage with children, the elderly, and individuals with disabilities through community-based activities.

  Experience the rich culture and history of the Dominican Republic through visits to national monuments and cultural sites.
